Introduction:

 

The Framers of the Constitution consisted of a group of 55 delegates. The Framers were not only well educated but had much experience in government and public service. Many of these men had wealth and prestige. Many had fought in the revolution, seven had been state governors, while eight had signed the Declaration of Independence. Thirty one had attended college. In later life two were to become Presidents of the United States and one Vice President. Seventeen served in the Senate and 11 in the House of Representatives.

 

Task:

 

Find out if any Framer's from early US History are still in the news today ( Example: Thomas Jefferson was recently in the news. ) Write a brief biography of the Framer, include his contribution to the Constitution and discuss why this individual is in the news today.

 

Process:

Scan news reports, book reviews, or other sources for reference to one of these Framers. Check the World Wide Web.

Essay will be graded for content, accuracy, and completness.

 

Conclusion:
